Essay of the week - Apple Vision Pro
I was at the Superteam Cross Clubhouse when Apple Vision Pro was announced. Watching WWDC is such a tech bro thing to do and I was in the midst of some of the top tech bros in the space.
I was excited about the announcements. It was predicted that Apple is coming up with a headset.
When it was launched we lost it. Shouts go loud and cheers are everywhere.
Nobody knew what to expect out of this but we know that Apple designs and builds great products. The last time they built something significantly new was probably AirPods which is now a $50B+ product.
Vision Pro was a long announcement. Lots of features were revealed and imagination went wild on how we'll be using this in future.
A few one-liners were thrown around:
- V R so back.
- They just killed 1000+ companies
- Let Tim Cook (Tweet)
Jaydeep tweeted a video of me falling while using VR :)
Here are a few things that I think will happen in the next few decades:
It's been 5 years since the product was available to the public. Developers have built most of the apps that were in the static 2D world. Augmented Reality is everywhere. Apple just launched Vision Pro 3 and Vision Air. Vision Air can be bought for $999. Mass adoption of AR is here.
A new form of entertainment is here. Experiential learning can be accessible by anyone with AI. Extremely customised too.
The year is 2035 and boredom is a pandemic. (read)
We’ll go back to Horizontal videos. Youtube will be king again.
People will still use their phones. at least the next 30 years.
Facebook can still win this as they have a different goal than Apple do.

Interesting observation: Most of the things you do with Meta’s quest are while standing (check out their videos) and Apple’s Vision Pro with sitting.
Also, note that VR is very heavy of nausea too. You get nauseous a lot.
Our brains are not ready for VR and AR yet.
Most of these are predictions that won’t matter. But my job is to make sure I try and figure out all the possible scenarios and help me and my folks navigate through those bad waters.
One thing I’m certain about is that this is a great leap into the future. A new way to experience something and very excited for the future.
I’m at the very end of Crosschain Clubhouse, we got sleepless nights, constantly building, eating together, discussing ideas, sharing stories, playing sports and building relationships.
4 more days and I’ll be done.
See you next week. Feel free to share your perspective in my comment section or DMs :)

10. Quotes of the week:
"We read books and highlight the lines
that speak to us, we listen to music and
tattoo the lyrics that touch us, we turn to
poetry and learn the lines that become us;
we're all hopelessly inept people,
struggling in vain to coherently express
ourselves. We know what we want to say
but we don't know how."
